Payroll Scotland can also provide international employers with international payroll services, in conjunction with the existing UK payroll services.

We work with our international payroll partners to help you through all the stages of establishing, employing and paying an employee: whether they are seconded from the UK, local nationals, or indeed third-country nationals.

Each country is different, although they share common traits.  Whilst some services can be arranged and delivered very quickly in some jurisdictions, in others this can take a fairly long to to ensure full compliance.  For instance, registering a company as an employer in Norway takes about 4-6 weeks, and getting a personal tax id for the employee can take 4 weeks, but adding a new employee with a tax id can happen overnight.International payroll

We can help you from the first stages of considering the tax issues surrounding an overseas office to the full implications of an individual employee being on an international payroll.  We have worked with tax authorities in many countries to make sure that clients are in full compliance, but the single most important stage tends to be at the main place of business, where processes and procedures many need to be changed.

But don't worry, we will be here for you to smooth the path.

Beyond international payroll we can ensure that you meet the employment conditions in the new country, advising you on when to use local employment advice; and as importantly when not to.

When an employer expanded their workforce in a non-EU country they sought tax and international payroll advice from us.  Due to the nationality, work pattern and working conditions of the employees, we recommended that UK contracts apply - with some local modification as required by law.  Despite our advice, the employer did not make the necessary changes, and payroll costs spiralled excessively, and they were unable to implement the previous UK employment conditions and they were left with much more onerous conditions applying by default.

Please contact us today to find out what we can do for you in the following jurisdictions, and to obtain a quote for the work that is required.

  • Norway
  • Netherlands
  • Germany
  • Denmark (including Greenland and the Faeroe islands)
  • United States of America
  • Canada
  • Dubai
  • UAE
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Other jurisdictions, using our partner firms

We can also help you make the international payroll payments to staff and to the tax authorities in each country using our international banking skills.  Again, some countries have extremely precise methods under which payments require to be made, and our local knowledge is key to implementing this.

If you try to pay payroll in some Arabic states without sufficient funds in your bank account, you could be liable for criminal prosecution, so it is important to be 100% certain that funds are in place before transfers are initiated.

We already work with a large number of multi-national companies helping processing or administering their international payroll and we can help you too.
